Sweet Potato Pie Leah Chase

I cant believe I finally found this recipe! It's really good!! 
Crust:
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup finely-chopped pecans (optional)
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/4 cups ice-cold water, or as neededed


Put all the ingredients in the bowl. Use your hands and squeeze it to see if it's working. If all of the ingredients not all combine add a little more water. Form a ball and make it in a round disk and chill it. Can last for several day.

  2 large sweet potatoes 
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 large eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon melted butter
Pecan halves for decoration (optional)
Preheat the oven to 375. Roll the dough out in 12 inch and put in 9 inch pan. Put in oven for about 10 min. or until slightly brown on the edge. In a pot add the potatoes then add the water 1 inch higher than the potatoes. Boil until become tender and when you poke it theirs no resistance. Than drain you water than mash it with a masher. Then all your ingredients then put it in your pie shell. Than bake at the same degree for about 20-25 min. Once the pie comes out let it cool than serve with anything you like!!
